Formed in 1927 by Clyde Cessna, the Cessna Aircraft Company has had a long and successful history of aircraft manufacturing with the first Citation jet being put into service in 1972 and more than 35 million flight hours logged since. The Citation line alone now forms one of the largest business jet fleets currently in service with the 7,000th Citation being delivered on June 27, 2016.
First unveiled at the September 2002 National Business Aviation Association convention, Cessna’s Citation CJ3 (Model 525B) is a variant of the light business jet Citation family built by the Cessna Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kansas. In April of 2014 the latest version of the Citation CJ3, the CJ3+, was certified by the FAA. Among its many new features is the advanced avionics system the Garmin 3000.
With a max range of 2,040 nautical miles, the CJ3+ will be able to fly nonstop from Washington, D.C., to Mexico City; from San Diego to Juneau, Alaska; or from Lima, Peru, to São Paulo, Brazil.
Along with the newly redesigned cabin and seating in the now fully enclosed laboratory that gives passengers complete privacy. Some of the other new cabin options include in-flight wireless internet and Cessna’s own Clarity cabin entertainment system.
