The Hawker 1000 is the largest of the Hawker series of business jets, which includes the Hawker 700, 800, 800XP, 850XP and 900. It is a twin engined super mid-size jet built by Hawker Beechcraft. The Hawker 1000 is well known for its comfortable cabin, and coast to coast range. The Hawker 1000 was designed and manufactured to address the shortcomings of the incredibly successful Hawker 800, the limited range and baggage space. The Hawker 1000 solved these issues with the addition of an accessible baggage compartment behind of the lavatory, which in turn doubled available baggage space, and increased range of over 3000 nautical miles, which allowed for nonstop flights coast to coast.
The Hawker 1000 is powered by two turbofans engines which were the first generation to incorporate full FADEC control. Full-authority digital engine controls (FADEC) automatically control all aspects of aircraft engine performance. This automated system helps to reduce pilot fatigue and improves safety, engine performance as well as fuel efficiency. The FADEC is the main reason the aircraft was able to improve it’s efficiency and range over that of the Hawker 800. The passenger cabin stretches over 24 feet and features more windows, and more space than the 800, but the seating capacity remains at eight in its standard business jet floor plan. This gives passengers more room to move about, relax, or work during the flight.
