The turboprop BN2 Islander from the British company Britten-Norman occupies an important place in the business aviation segment. The aircraft’s first flight took place in June 1965; during the serial production, more than 1,000 examples were produced, most of which were actively exploited. It is actively operated in many countries for short-haul private charters and is one of the best-selling light aircraft of Western European manufacture. A charter on the BN2 Islander allows you to travel at 139 kts from Chicago to Kansas City, Houston to Dallas, or Philadelphia to Cleveland without a transfer.
The BN2 Islander aircraft has been designed for a wide range of missions and can operate on short runways or grassy airfields. It has a rugged airframe, fixed landing gear with two leading wheels, blister portholes, and three doors on either side of the fuselage. The powerplant is in the form of two Textron Lycoming O-540-E4C5 piston engines.
The cabin of BN2 Islander has a flat floor, onboard oxygen generation system, leather seats, large luggage compartment, and entertainment systems. This is where private aviation customers can work or relax.
