Venice Municipal Airport is a public-use airport managed by city. It is situated 2.7 kilometers southward of the downtown area, the central commercial district of Venice, Sarasota County, Florida, USA.
Venice Municipal Airport covers 835 acres of land and it contains two paved runways: asphalt and concrete. The airport offers such services as avionics, charter service, aircraft rental, pilot instruction and aircraft sales.
Venice Municipal Airport was built by the United States Army Air Forces. Earlier the U.S. government passed airport managing to the city of Venice and named them as airport sponsor through different grant assurances. Venice Municipal Airport gets money for the enterprise fund from the airport’s land leases. The airport is managed solely from the airport enterprise fund and does not receive money from the general fund of the city.
Venice Municipal Airport provides air taxi and general aviation operations. There are 2 restaurants: Honoluana that offers dinner and lunch, and the Suncoast Cafe, which is opened for breakfast as well as lunch.
